Obituary Corinne Proffitt Duncan, 86, of Owensboro, KY, formerly of Monroe County, passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born September 17, 1927 in Monroe County, KY to the late Homer Proffitt and Vernie Sheffield Proffitt. She was a retired employee of KY Department of Insurance and a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Owensboro. She was united in marriage on October 15, 1949 to Hugh Mills Duncan who preceded her in death on October 28, 2010. She is survived by one daughter: Jennifer Baker and husband Rick of Philpot, KY,two brothers-in-law: Roger Duncan and wife Mildred of Beaver Dam, KY,Bill Duncan and wife: Juanita of Winchester, KY, one sister-in-law: Dixie Boles and husband F.J. of Bowling Green, KY, two grandsons: Joshua Baker and wife Karen and Jacob Baker and wife Olivia all of Owensboro, two great grandchildren: Grayson Hugh Baker and Isla Paige Baker. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers:Herbert "Sprocket" Proffitt, Glen Proffitt and Waymond Proffitt. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 PM on Tuesday and after 7:30 AM on Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
