Mrs. Darlene (Davis) Botts, age 78, of Tompkinsville, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, at her home surrounded by family. Darlene was born in Clay County, Tennessee, on October 5, 1947, the daughter of the late Woody D. and Zelma Edith (Ferguson) Davis. She was a 1965 graduate of Tompkinsville High School and worked at various factories throughout the years. She was a member of the Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband thirty-nine years, John David Botts, Sr., three children, Brad Hutcherson and wife Beth, Lisa Chapman and husband Toby, and Sherry Barlow all of Tompkinsville, and one stepson John David Botts, Jr. One sister Rita Key, eight grandchildren, Justin Barlow and wife Briana, Dalen Barlow, Cassy Thacker, Lauren Shirley and husband John, Brandon Walker and wife Olivia, Brianna Hutcherson, Nicole Botts, and Jeredith Botts, and five great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson-in-law Dustin Tacker, and parents-in-law Winford and Vernia Botts.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday May 1, 2026, at Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Harlan’s Crossroads Cemetery. Bro. Eddie Wilson and Taylor Chandler will officiate the services.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, and again Friday morning after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Poplar Log Missionary Baptist Church in memory of Darlene.
Pallbearers: Tony Strong, Thomas Chandler, Taylor Chandler, Matt Dillon, Marv Connelly, and Tyler Smith.
