Donovan Jay Burnett

Mr. Donovan Jay Burnett, age 67, of Gamaliel, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023.  Donovan was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 18, 1956 a son of the late Guy Jay and Nellie Dean (Wilson) Burnett.  Donovan attained a Masters Degree in Sociology and Psychology.  Donovan farmed his family farm for several years, and traveled many miles across the country as an over the road truck driver. He had a love for the outdoors, was a huge believer in the 2^nd Amendment, and a proud member of the NRA.

He is survived by his children; Billy Jay Burnett and his wife Elaine of Gamaliel, Susanna Fisher and husband Daniel of Scottsville, Dwight Bo Jay Burnett of Tompkinsville, David Burnett and wife Ariel of Glasgow, Guy Jay Burnett, II of Scottsville, and James Pruitt and wife Kelly of Tompkinsville. Ten grandchildren; William Nolan Jay Burnett, Caleb Jackson Dean Burnett, Alison Ella Shae Burnett, Elijah Floyd Fisher, Caroline Rose Burnett, Gabriel James Burnett, Jamison Pruitt, Kaylee Pruitt, Payton Pruitt, and Molly Pruitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lisa Ann Yokley Burnett.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel, with interment to follow in Neal Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist the family with final expenses, those may be made at the Funeral Home.
