Obituary Evie Janelle Bartley Conkin, 83, of Tompkinsville passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013at NHC in Glasgow. She was born June 4, 1930 in Monroe County, KY to the late Clyde Bartley and Vera Harlan Bartley. She was a member of Grandview Church of Christ and a retired school teacher. She was united in marriage on Jul 14, 1946 in Dalton, GA to Robert Marrs Conkin who preceded her in death on July 3, 2008. She is survived by two sons: Rodney Conkin of Tompkinsville, Danny Conkin of Plymouth, Wisc., three daughters: Connie Hawley of St. Louis, MO , Linda Gover of Danville, KY, Cynthia Williams of Tompkinsville, one brother: Rondal Bartley of Louisville, 8 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother: Ralph Bartley and one sister: Imogene Tyree. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:30 PM on Friday and after 7:30 AM on Saturday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
