Geneva Turner Jennings

Mrs. Geneva Jennings, age 92, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Monroe County Medical Center.  Geneva was born on March 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Clyde and Flossie Jane (Proffitt) Turner.  She married William Guy Jennings, who preceded her in death in 2009.  She was saved in her younger years and was a member of Summer Shade Baptist Church.  She worked at Keys, and Red Kap Garment Factories for several years, and was an avid quilter. 

Two sons survive her; Jimmie Carol Jennings and his wife Margaret of Glasgow, Kentucky, and William Gerald Jennings and his wife Joyce of Tompkinsville, two brothers; Eugene Turner, and Glendell Turner, and two sisters; Christine Birge, and Dean Story. Five grandchildren; Todd (Cheryl) Jennings, Brooke (Jason) Martin, Marsha (Obie) Dearing, Craig (Amy) Jennings, Ashley (Josh) Runyon; great-grandchildren, Austin & Tristan Martin, Erin Jennings, Kimberly & Jeremy Pedigo, Zachary Dearing, Caleb, Cailey, & Caden Runyon, Griffin & Landyn Jennings; five great-great-grandchildren, and five step great-great grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, Clyde and Flossie Turner, she was preceded in death by her husband; William Guy Jennings, two sisters; Burnell Emberton, and Mossie Re Shirley, and one brother; Rex Turner.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.  Bro. Jim Finley will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening, and again on Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00.
