Geneva Nell Welch

Mrs. Geneva Welch, age 81, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Geneva was born in Tompkinsville on November 17, 1943, a daughter of the late Bethel and Hazel (Netherton) Davis. She worked at AT&T for twenty-eight years before retiring and was a member of the Tompkinsville Church of Christ. She was a member of the Garden Club, loved needlepointing, cross-stitching, and quilting, and enjoyed watching sports.

She is survived by one brother, Mike Davis and wife Lisa of Tompkinsville, nieces and nephews, Sandra Clements and husband Steve, Larry Wilson and wife Terri Lynn, and Amy Thompson and husband Brad, Christopher Davis and wife Kim, Eric Davis, and Myra Davis, all of Tompkinsville. Sister-In-Law, Anita Riley, and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Bethel & Hazel Davis, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyce Earl Welch, one son, Earl Dwayne Welch, one sister, Jenetta Wilson, and one brother, Willard Garth Davis.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Harlan’s Crossroads Cemetery. Jack Honeycutt will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home and again on Friday morning after 6:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Backpack Program, or Harlan’s Crossroads Cemetery in memory of Geneva.
