Mr. Henry “Gerald” Ford, age 78, of Gamaliel, Kentucky passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Signature Healthcare of Monroe. Gerald was born on May 11, 1944, a son of the late Henry, and Dorothy Duel (Morgan) Ford. He attended and graduated from Gamaliel High School class of 1963; he married Louise Yokley on October 16, 1965, and she preceded him in death on September 22, 2017. Gerald was a family man; he had a special place in his heart for all of his family. He enjoyed fishing, raising a huge garden, and was a true-blue University of Kentucky fan. Gerald was the kind of man that could pull a prank over on you without cracking a smile. He was a great father, husband, and “Pa.”
He is survived by two sons; Michael Ford and his wife Kay, of the Flippin Community, and Mark Ford and his wife Meredith, of Gamaliel. Five grandchildren; Tyler Ford, Dylan Ford, Heather England and husband Josh, Ally Kerney and the late David Kerney, Trevor Ford, three step-grandsons; Kaleb, Kyle and Kameron Dyer; Eight great-grandchildren; Nick, Gavyn, and Kylie England, Leighton, Luca, and Tristan Ford, Konnor, and Kaslor Kerney. He is also survived by a brother; Steven Ford and wife Brenda of Red Boiling Springs, and one sister; Joyce Ford Yokley of Fountain Run. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
In addition to his parents, and wife of fifty-two years, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Earl Gene (Cotton) Ford, and Gary Wayne Ford, and one grandson; Michael Seth Ford.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel with burial to follow in Neal Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday after 7:00 until time for services at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Neal Cemetery in memory of Mr. Ford.
Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Ford and his family at this time.
