Obituary Gladys Dyer Cook, 100, of Clarksville, IN, formerly of Monroe County, KY, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehab in Clarksville, IN.She was born October 22, 1914 in Monroe County, KY to the late Bob Dyer and Dora Anderson Dyer. She was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress, she was baptized into Christ in September 1929 and was a member of Charlestown Road Church of Christ in New Albany, IN. She was united in marriage on October 12, 1935 to Willie Cook who preceded her in death in November 1987.She is survived by two sons: Robert T. Cook and wife Sarah Neil of Rockfield, KYTony Hugh Cook and wife Pamela of Clarksville, IN, three daughters: Evelyn Mitchell of Greenbrier, TN, Veachel Martin of Hopkinsville, KY, Joyce Boren and husband Perry of Herndon, KY, three sisters: Clara Combs, Betty Lane, Virginia Sprowl all of Tompkinsville, Kathryn Jackson of Dexter, MO and12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother: Mack Dyer, three sisters: Margaret Sprowl, Inez Emmert and Addie Crabtree, two sons-in-law: Tommy Mitchell and E. C. Martin.Funeral services will be conducted Tues. Jan. 20 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Bailey CemeteryVisitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday and after 7:30 AM on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.
