Golda Deckard Turner

Golda (Deckard) Turner, age 92, of Gamaliel, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Signature Healthcare of Monroe.  Golda was born in Monroe County, on September 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Perry and Elizabeth (Borden) Deckard.  She married Roy Turner, Jr. on January 29, 1949, he preceded her in death on June 23, 1988.  She loved to quilt, and enjoyed gardening, canning, and reading. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

She is survived by her five children; Janice Turner, of Palm Springs, California, Agnes Turner, Leon Turner and his wife Carolyn, both of Tompkinsville, Shirley Hamilton, of Kokomo, Indiana, and Sharon Turner, of Gamaliel. One sister; Geraldine Blankenship, four grandchildren; Stacy Poe (Shane,) Paul Campbell, Kristie Watson (Ravy) Justin Turner (Rebecca), and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Roy Turner, Jr. she was preceded in death by two brothers; James Deckard, and George Deckard.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Golda will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, April 26, 2020, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in The Compton Cemetery.  The family will receive visitors on Monday afternoon from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 8:00 a.m. until the time for services at Noon. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compton Cemetery in honor of Mrs. Golda, those may be made at the funeral home.
