Mr. Lowell David Walker, age 87, of Gamaliel, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. Lowell was born in Center Point, Kentucky on November 14, 1937, son of the late Clurie and Ollie Mae Walker. He retired from Red Kap Industries after twenty-five years and worked as a Deputy Sherriff in Monroe County for several years. Lowell was a member of the Gamaliel Church of Christ and loved fishing and coon hunting.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Betty Lou (Pickerell) Walker, son Jackie Walker and wife Sharon. Three grandchildren Matt, Trent, and Keaton Walker, and four great-grandchildren, MaKenna, Duncan, Langston, and Darcy Walker also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Turner Walker and Lorene Walker Rhoton, and one brother, Lorenzo Walker.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Hickory Ridge Cemetery. Hershel Cyphers will officiate the service.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning after 7:30 a.m. until the service time at 12:00 p.m. Noon.
Pallbearers: Jackie Walker, Matthew Walker, Trent Walker, Keaton Walker, Grady Short, Charles Murray.
Honorary Pallbearers: All the men of Gamaliel Church of Christ, Cindy Crowe, Erin Adams, and Chelsea Coffelt.
