Marty Lee Spear

Mr. Marty Lee Spear, age 66, of Gamaliel, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, at his home. Marty was born in Belvoir, Virginia, on August 18, 1959, a son of the late Harold Mitchell and Willa Dean “Deanie” (Hale) Spear.

He was a 1977 graduate of the Gamaliel High School. He was a factory worker at Jonez Apparel and welder for Stephens Manufacturing. He enjoyed playing music, was a UK sports fanatic, racing fan and known prankster. He always enjoyed mowing his lawn.

He is survived by his son, Jason Lee Spear, and wife, Jessica, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Kinlee Sarah Spear and Cameron James Spear; along with his special friends and caregivers, Jessie and Cindy Pruitt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Mitchell Spear.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel, with burial to follow in the Mount Poland Cemetery. Bro. Danny Pace will officiate the services.

Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Gamaliel Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mount Poland Cemetery.
