Naomi Eubank Sherfey

Mrs. Naomi Sherfey, age 81 of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was born in Monroe County on January 24, 1940, a daughter of the late Spohn and Leona Pitcock Eubank. On Deceber 21, 1956 she married Marcus D. Sherfey Jr. who preceded her in death on August 18, 2020. Naomi worked in several capacities within the Monroe County School System as a teacher assistant, and Migrant Program for many years before retiring. Naomi was saved as a young girl and joined Sand Lick Baptist Church, but was a current member of Old Tompkinsville Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to gospel singings and loved to quilt.

She is survived by her children; Mark Anthony Sherfey and wife Laurie of Monterey, Tennessee, Sheila Emberton and husband James of Tompkinsville, two sisters; Wanda Eubank of Denver, Colorado, Rachael Burger of Harlan, Kentucky, and a brother Jesse Eubank of Fountain Run. Eight Grandchildren; Shayne Emberton and wife Cindy, Trent Emberton and wife Chelsea, Mark Sherfey Jr., Tara Sherfey, Hannah Prosser and husband Drew, Tyler Sherfey and wife Mary, Daniel and Ethan Sherfey, and eleven great-grandchildren also survive.

Other than her parents and Husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, John Timothy Sherfey.

Funeral services for Naomi will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and again on Saturday morning from 7:30 until time for services at 10:00.

In lieu of flowers Mrs. Naomi requested that memorials be made in the form of donations to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Those may be made at the funeral home or mailed to Bartley & Sons, 204 Columbia Avenue, Tompkinsville, Kentucky 42167.
