Nelda Doris McPherson

Mrs. Nelda Doris (Emmert) McPherson, age 93, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the Monroe County Medical Center. Nelda was born in Monroe County on October 6, 1931, a daughter of the late Flaudie Herbert and Hassie (England) Emmert. She married Wallace Reed McPherson in 1950, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2015. She retired from The Credit Union and enjoyed working in her flower gardens and reading. She was a member of the Germany Church of Christ.

She is survived by two sisters in law, Willodean McPherson, and Jeanette Harlan, both of Tompkinsville, along with a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Flaudie Herbert and Hassie England Emmert, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Wallace Reed McPherson, and three sisters, Reva Cain, Lera Tesley, and Barbara Hodge.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with Brett Crowe officiating the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Poland Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Poland Cemetery in memory of Mrs. McPherson. Those may be made at the Funeral Home.
