Obituary Mrs. Ranese Gearlds, age 91, of Tompkinsville, departed this life on July 19, 2020, at Signature Healthcare of Glasgow.  She was born in the Kettle Creek Community on November 18, 1928, the daughter of the late Ben and Lela Wells Kerr. She married Radford "Joe" Gearlds, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1991.  She was a devout member of The Cyclone Church of Christ.  Ranese retired from Monroe Health and Rehab after dedicating twenty-five years.  She was an avid quilter and enjoyed fishing as much as anyone. She is survived by one son; Jackie Ben, and his wife Kay Gearlds of Tompkinsville, two grandchildren; Kevin and his wife Kellie Gearlds of Glasgow, and Melinda and her husband David Page of Summer Shade, eight great-grandchildren; Karoline, Katie, Karson, and Katherine Gearlds, Jackson, and Jordan Page, Kynlee Swartz, and Kylie Brown, one sister, Ruth Anderson, and one brother Richard Kerr, both of Indianapolis. A special niece, Dulcy Russell also survives. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters; Letha Ford, Mary Jackson, Geneva Graves, Jewell Graves, and Alene Brewington, three brothers; Earl, Myrl, and Kenneth Kerr, and a special nephew, Darrell Gearlds. Funeral Services for Mrs. Ranese Gearlds will be conducted Friday, July 24, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Anderson-Bartley Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn.   Visitation with the family will begin on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. and continue on Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. until time for services at 11:00.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Ranese Gearlds Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be made at the funeral home. Due to the mandate of the Governor regarding Covid-19, Masks will be required upon entry of the funeral home.  Anderson-Bartley Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Ranese Gearlds.
