Mr. Richard Lee Shaw, age 50, of Summer Shade, Kentucky peacefully passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky. Richard was born in Tompkinsville on September 23, 1974, to Larry Shaw and Lowanda Jean (Todd) Moore. He was raised in Fountain Run, Kentucky and was a 1993 graduate of Monroe County High School. He met the love of his life and married Sherri Dawn Page on March 4, 1994, and they made their home in Summer Shade. They built a life centered around each other, their two daughters, and their grandchildren.
Everyone who knew Richard, knew he loved his family, the lake, ATV racing, camping and College football. He never missed a ball game or cheer competition to watch his daughters cheer. Cheer was replaced by basketball and tee ball when the grandkids came along. One could usually find Richard on Dale Hollow Lake, cruising the lake with his music blaring. The lake served as his second home for many years. For several years, Richard never missed a GNCC race, travelling all across the south, so he could ride a four-wheeler as fast as he wanted. Richard was an employee at APACE packaging, and had done autobody work for over twenty years. Richard was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ.
Richard is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Dawn Shaw, his daughters, April Hagerty and husband Timmy, all of Summer Shade, Nicole Boles and husband Andrew, of Celina, Tennessee; his two grandchildren, Levi and Stella Hagerty; his father, Larry Shaw and wife Kathy of Tompkinsville, his mother, Jean Moore of Bowling Green; and his brother Brad Shaw and wife Felicia of Tompkinsville, his parents-in-law, Donald and Diane Page, two brothers-in-law, David Page and wife Melinda, and Dennis Page all of Summer Shade, along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family also survives.
Richard was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Earl and Agnes Todd, and his step-father, Mark Moore.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in White Cemetery in Sulphur Lick. Lewis Blythe and Jason Page will officiate the services.
