Robert "Bob" Gladen Scearce

Mr. Robert Gladen “Bob” Scearce, age 77, of The Turkey Neck Bend Community of Monroe County, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 5, 2021. He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on November 4, 1944 a son of the late Gladen Shields and Jean Carolyn (Wiggington) Scearce. Bob married Patricia Ann Rivers on December 17, 1983 in Saint Augustine, Florida. He proudly served in The United States Navy, and was Chief Engineer for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock. After Retiring, he enjoyed working on their farm, and hunting and fishing.

Bob is survived by his wife of 38 years; Pat Scearce, one daughter; Melanie Berger, two grandsons; Zachery and Nicholas Berger, all of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, two sisters; Janet Adrian, and Ramona Williams both of Florida, a sister-in-law; Jeanette Daymude, of South Carolina, and two nieces; Jennifer Harlin, and Jessica Boyce also survive.


Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Scearce II, and one brother, Ernest Daymude.


Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 p.m. until time for services at 6:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Military Honors will be conducted by DAV Chapter 20.
