Mrs. Shirley Jean (Turner) Irvin, age 76, of Mount Hermon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Shirley was born in Monroe County on July 20, 1949, a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Carlene Davis Turner. Shirley retired from the garment factory, and enjoyed canning, gardening, and making deer jerky with Clyde. She was a member of the Tompkinsville First Baptist Church and played a great part in the WMU there.
She is survived by her husband Clyde, who she has been with for forty-four years, four children, Robert Ford and wife Audrey, Barbara Ford and Jeff Young of Tompkinsville, Christy Vickery and husband Jamie, and Lisa Wilborn and husband Tommy of Mount Hermon, six brothers; Hughie Turner and wife Kay, Larry Turner and wife Cleva, Glen Turner and wife Sharon, Caroll Turner and wife Rita, Jerry Turner and wife Brenda, and Darrell Turner. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, along with a host of extended family also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ford and a daughter, Carla Ford Strong.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Irvin Family Cemetery in Mount Hermon.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home and again on Sunday after 8:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Deven Smith will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Funeral Home to assist with Final Expenses.
