Obituary Shirley Short Piercy,83, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Signature Healthcare of Monroe. She was born on February 9, 1937, the daughter of the late Owen Cleo and Lennis Elizabeth (Wright) Bybee. She retired after 33 years from Red Cap Industries. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. Shirley loved quilting, going to flea markets and county music venues with her husband. Her greatest loves were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, David, and Willis Short both of Tompkinsville; one daughter, Karen Bartley and husband Benny of Tompkinsville; one step-daughter, Teresa Stanley and husband Jim of Livingston, Tennessee; one brother, Bobby Dale Bybee of Tompkinsville; two sons-in-law, Terry York and Junior Frazier of Tompkinsville; eight grandchildren, Brookie Short, Brandy Hatcher, Lucas, and J W Short, Terri Lyndsey Brown, Brandon York, Lauren Carter, and Chasity Biggerstaff; one niece, Tishia Bartley; one nephew, Earl Dale Bybee; seventeen great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to her parents and husband, James Piercy she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kathy York and Beth Turner; one daughter-in-law, Lisa Short; one grandson, Jamie Short; one sister-in-law, Anna Lee Bybee; the father of her children, James Arlee Short. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020, at The Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Jason Page officiating the service.  A Walk - Thru Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  At the request of the family, and to help combat the spread of Covid-19, we ask that you refrain from physical contacts, such as handshaking, and hugs.  Anderson-Bartley Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Piercy. For the protection of Mrs. Piercy’s family, it is kindly asked for everyone coming to the service to abide by Governor Beshear’s recommendation of wearing a mask and practice social distancing.
