Mr. Tim Marrs Heilman, age 80, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at his residence. Born in Owen County, Kentucky on August 12, 1942, a son of the late Lester Elliot and Mary Marshall (Thomas) Heilman, Tim graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1960, he attended two years at Western Kentucky University, before graduating from UK Pharmacy School in 1965. After graduation, he took over the operation of his parents’ Heilman’s Rexall Drug Company on Main Street in Tompkinsville and became co-owner of Gamaliel Rexall Drug Company in Gamaliel. He was a proud second-generation Pharmacist, with two more generations to follow in his footsteps. Over the years, he worked for Rite Aid and the Monroe County Medical Center.
Tim was an avid UK Fan and enjoyed Canada fishing trips with friends. He loved to share his knowledge and life experiences with his family, friends, and patients. Politics, losing weight, UK Basketball, and one's need to quit smoking were some of his favorite and frequent topics.
He was a member of The Tompkinsville United Methodist Church, and also attended The First Baptist Church with his family for many years. Through all of Tim’s accomplishments, his greatest love was that of his family.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Faye (Lyon) Heilman, and their children; Mary Tim Smith, Jonnie Beth Hammer, and husband Richard, both of Tompkinsville, Thomas Taylor Heilman and wife Kelley of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Shannon Joy Emberton and husband Mark, of Tompkinsville, and James Michael Curtis and wife Candi, of Gamaliel. One sister, Ann Beth Moore of Tompkinsville, Twelve grandchildren; Timothy Kaleb Smith and wife Rhiannon, Taylor Beth Scott and husband Jake, Elliott Martin Hammer, Emily Marshall Hammer, Elizabeth Marrs Hammer, Ava Jean Heilman, Willa Sloane Heilman, Joseph Howard Walden and wife Megan, James Utah Emberton, Shelby Markaya Emberton, James Alexander Gray Curtis and Joseph Benjamin Anson Curtis, seven great-grandchildren; Mary Addilyn Smith, Thomas Kane Smith, Kade Lewis Smith, Oakley Elizabeth Scott, Gage Michael Clay Scott, Sophia Brooke Walden, and Bryson Curtis Walden also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean (Conkin) Heilman, one brother James Elliot Heilman, brother-in-law, Carol Cook Moore, and one son-in-law, Lannie Smith.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in The Oak Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Anderson and Bro. Darrick Proffitt will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, after 7:00 a.m. until time for services at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim’s memory may be made to Tompkinsville First Baptist Church Building Fund, The Guatemala Medical Mission Team, or to United Methodist Association.
