Tommy Edward Smith, Sr.

Mr. Tommy Edward Smith, Sr., age 53, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at his residence. Tommy was born in Tompkinsville on March 21, 1970 to the late Willie Smith Jr. and Kathey (Keith) Milam. Tommy was a well-known body man, He loved spending time with his kids, riding four wheelers, and gun smithing. He was a graduate of Tompkinsville High class of 1988 and had attended Indian Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather; Kathey and Bobby Milam, wife; Angela Dawn Smith, mother-in-law; Sondra Kaye Turner, three sons; Dylan Tyler Smith and Taylor Coe, “T. J.” Tommy Edward Smith Jr., and “Will” William Addison Smith, and one step-son Matt Burkhead. Two sisters; Tammy Goolsby and husband Michael, and Joy Wilborn, one step-brother; Joe Milam, one-step grandson; Gamble Burkhead, and one grandchild on the way. Several aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his father Willie Smith, Jr., he was preceded in death by his grandparents; Willie & Sally Smith and Robert & Lizzie Keith, father-in-law; William D. Jackson, and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday January 4, 2024 at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Neal Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday morning, after 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with final expenses.
