Tonya Denise Bartley

Ms. Tonya Denise Bartley, age 50, of Tompkinsville, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Tonya was born in Tompkinsville, on September 2, 1975, a daughter of the late Tom Dennis Bartley and Ann Runelle Spears. She graduated from Lindsey Wilson College and obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Services and Counseling and spent twenty years doing social work for the State of Kentucky. Tonya was a member of Liberty United General Baptist Church, and loved spending time with her family, cooking, and shopping.

She is survived by two sons, Dr. Noble Steenbergen and Zebablan Steenbergen and wife Payton, all of Fountain Run, two sisters, Patty Branham and husband Joey and Arline Patterson and husband Michael. Two brothers, Tommy Bartley and wife Sarah and William Bartley and wife Tracy, along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry, Lonnie, and Jimmy Bryant, and step-sister, Judy Spencer.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Noon, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial to follow in the Sid Yokley Cemetery. Bro. Ronnie Wheeler will officiate the services.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning after 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., Noon, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Monroe County Backpack Program in memory of Tonya.

Pallbearers: John Ross Branham, Terry David Dubree, Tommy Ray Patterson, Zebablan Steenbergen, Chase Goad, Ryan Goad, and Jerry Stines.

Honorary Pallbearers: Michael Patterson and Joey Branham.
