Obituary Darryl Dwane Proffitt, 59, of Lafayette, TN, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.He was born September 8, 1954 in Decatur, IL to Mary Parsley Proffitt and the late Bulie Proffitt. He was a self employed painter.He is survived by his mother: Mary Parsley Proffitt Scruggs and step father: Meredith Scruggs of Lafayette, TN, one son: Jeremy Proffitt, one daughter: Jessica Proffitt, one brother: Danny Proffitt of Lafayette, IN, two sisters: Wanda Beck of Mattoon, IL, Sandra Purdue of Lafayette,TN.In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister: Kathy Annette Steen.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 PM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery.Visitation will be after 10:00 AM on Saturday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel.Memorials are suggested to the family funeral expense, these can be left at the funeral home.
