Donald Murdock McConnellObituary Donald Murdock McConnell, 65, of Bowling Green, formerly of Monroe County, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. He was born December 8, 1949 in Jefferson County, KY to the late Alfred McConnell and Vera Elizabeth England McConnell. He was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church and a Viet Nam Army Veteran. He is survived by one brother: Mike McConnell of Bowling Green, two sisters: Kaye Huffer of Bowling Green, Linda Short of Jeffersonville, IN,2 nieces 8 nephews, several great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great niece. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother: J.W. McConnell. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 9 at 11:00 AM at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Gamaliel Cemetery.Military rites will be performed by DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. Visitation will be after 1:00 PM on Thursday and after 7:30 AM on Friday at Strode's Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Memorials are suggested to DAV Chapter 20 of Glasgow. don was my best friend and like a father figure to me and my family. he was the nicest guy I ever met, thanks for everything you done for me and my family, ill never forget you don love and miss ya. prayers are to the family and if they need anything all they need is ask and ill help out. love Randy and the Deckers.
