Obituary Verdie Maude "Toad" Hale, age 89, of Tompkinsville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the home of her cousin in Tompkinsville. She was born March 24, 1925 in Adair County, KY to the late William Lester Hale and Mary Ann Davis Hale. She was a homemaker and a member of the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by one brother: Archie Hale and one sister: Bonnie Hale both of Tompkinsville, several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: Paul "Buck" Hale, Malcolm "Mack" Hale and Nolen Hale and one sister: Arnella Wood. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 20 at 1:00 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Harlan's Crossroad Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 PM on Monday and after 7:30 AM on Tuesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville. Memorials are suggested to the Harlan's Crossroad Cemetery.
