Anna Russell (Copas) Ritter

Mrs. Anna Russell Copas Ritter, age 85, of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25, 2022, at Monroe County Medical Center. Anna was born in Vernon, on May 8, 1937, a daughter of the late Russell and Nardie (Stone) Copas.  She was a member of the Homemakers and Garden Club, enjoyed her Bridge Club, and served as President of The Relay for Life.  She was a member of Germany Church of Christ.  

She is survived by two sons; Michael Short and his wife Gaye, Jeff Ritter and his wife Angelia, three daughters; Joni Brown and her husband Ronnie, Teresa Hale and her husband Scott, and Suzanne Keele and her husband Alan, all of Tompkinsville.  One sister; Martha Sue Murphy, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and two nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; Clyde Short, and James G. Ritter, and one brother-in-law, John Kelly Murphy.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Monroe County Memorial Lawn. Tim McHenry and Tyler Short will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning from 7:00 until time for services at Noon.

Honorary Pallbearers: Her Caregivers; Mary Ruth Emberton, Patricia Copas, and Eileen Graves

In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s Memory may be made to The Bailey Cemetery, Monroe County Backpack Program, or Imagination Library.
